You Can Buy the Hermès Apple Watch at Target

With high profile hires, Apple’s publicly been carrying out a love affair with fashion. Angela Ahrendts came to the company from Burberry to head up retail, Paul Deneve, the former CEO of Yves Saint Laurent, made the move to Silicon Valley, and Patrick Pruniaux was the vice president of global sales and retail at Tag Heuer before he left tickers for tech. The announcement of the Apple Watch in September 2014 even drew front row regulars away from their seats at New York Fashion Week; they chose the press conference in California instead. And on Monday, the love affair was officially solidified when Apple’s collaboration with Hermès hit stores.

Hermès has been a fashion favorite for decades, bags from the Paris-based luxury brand sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars and their watches are the ultimate status symbol. Last month, they introduced 10 different style and size leather strap variations to accompany Apple’s custom hardware, which has special clock faces with Hermés branding. Like its own watches, the bands come in single and double wrap and multiple colors including Fauve, Etain, Capucine, and Bleu Jean. For the single wrap, prices start at $1,100, while the double starts at $1,250.

The watch isn’t available to purchase online (yet), and can be found at select retail locations in Los Angeles, Miami, New York, San Francisco, and Toronto. Interestingly enough, some Targets will have the fancy line as well. "Guests can choose from 20 models—in both 38mm and 42mm sizes—including beautiful space gray and rose gold colors. Select models and bands will be available at all Target stores, and an expanded assortment of Apple Watch Sport and Apple Watch will be available on Target.com,“ the superstore said in a release. In Europe, Colette, a Paris boutique that hosted an Apple Watch party earlier this year, and Selfridges have the timepiece in stock.
