The 10 Best New Restaurants in America

It’s the time of year again when Bon Appetit magazine reveals its “Hot Ten,” the 10 best new restaurants in America. To compile the list, Food and Drink Editor Andrew Knowlton scoured the country and “devoured something like a million calories” to find the restaurant world’s top newcomers. (Not a bad gig!)

The reigning picks come in from all the across the country, but most are from California, with two picks in Los Angeles and two San Francisco – including the number one spot. There’s a brunch-friendly post in Indianapolis, a seafood place in Seattle, and a meat-centric joint in Austin. Even a mom-and-pop in college town Davidson, North Carolina joins the ranks of trendy dinner spots in Brooklyn and Chicago. And notably, not a single restaurant is in New York City.
