Michelle Obama Rapping in a Wrap Dress Is Everything

Kris Jenner might’ve been the coolest mom at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, but Michelle Obama takes the prize for chillest in the nation. The first lady claimed her title on Thursday when a video of the 51-year-old rapping to promote higher education was released.

Dropping rhymes with Jay Pharaoh, the Saturday Night Live comedian who often plays her husband, President Barack Obama, on the show, the duo’s first single came courtesy of College Humor. In it, the encourage teenagers to attend college in order to “fill your head with knowledge.”

“Southside Chicago, we all know, we had to do overtime every night to make it tomorrow,” she raps, as she walks across the White House lawn. “And everyone could really make their dream true. Hey, kid listenin’ in Michigan that could be you!"

Her sick beats are certainly on point, but she didn’t shift her style in any way. Sasha and Malia’s mom didn’t wear a diamond chain or booty shorts, instead she chose a classic Diane Von Furstenberg wrap dress. Not exactly gangsta, but still cute!

According to a statement from the White House, FLOTUS’s video was made to promote the new program BetterMakeRoom.org. "This campaign is leveraging traditional and new media platforms to celebrate student stories in the same way that we often celebrate celebrities and athletes,” it reads. “Better Make Room strives to ensure that Generation Z, or young people 14-19, understand the steps, tools, and resources available to help them Reach Higher.”
