TGR Captures "The Deepest" Winter In Jackson Hole's History

In preparation for opening day on November 24th at Jackson Hole, Teton Gravity Research just released a dramatic recap of the '22/'23 season.

The video, at just under 2 minutes long, features some insane skiing from Alex Armstrong, Griffin Post, Tim Durtschi, Jake Hopfinger, Kai Jones, Parkin Costain, and Simon Hillis.

The caption on the video explains why a recap was needed: "595 inches of snow made the 2022-23 season the snowiest, deepest ever recorded at Jackson Hole."

Jackson Hole is no stranger to good seasons, though. The mountain gets an average annual snowfall of 393 inches of snow per year and, on average, has 70 annual snowfall days.

Most of the Jackson Hole season pass options are already sold out, so this teaser is salt in the wound for those of us who hit snooze on deciding where to ski this winter. If you're on the IKON pass, you can go for a couple days this season and still catch some quality conditions if this season delivers like last year.

Teton Gravity Research is actually headquarted in Jackson Hole, so it makes sense that they are promoting last year's epic season. The company has also produced a number of noteworthy ski films, including The Continuum (1996), Rogue Elements (2017), and In Pursuit of Soul (2021).

The cliff hucks and face shots in the recap are set to a Hippie Sabotage soundtrack (perfect, if I do say so myself). The song, titled "Trust Nobody", reflects the age-old saying "no friends on powder days."
