Teyana Taylor Confirms Split From Husband Iman Shumpert

Teyana Taylor and Iman Shumpert have called a time out on their marriage.
On Sept. 17, the singer confirmed on Instagram that she and the former NBA star had separated after around seven years of marriage.
The 32-year-old performer shared the update alongside a photo of herself and Shumpert, 33, dressed as Wayne's World characters, writing, "AHT AHT! Not too much on my bestie! In all fairness, Iman and I are separated and have been for a while. To be 1000% clear, 'infidelity' ain’t one of the reasons for our departure."
Despite the separation, Taylor, who has been married to the Dancing With the Stars season 30 winner since 2016, assured fans that they "are still the best of friends, great business partners and are one hell of a team when it comes to co-parenting our 2 beautiful children."
"Most importantly we are FAMILY & in the 10yrs together, 7yrs married we ain’t ever played with or about THAT," she continued. "We just keep y’all asses out the group chat lol, which is the reason we’ve been able to successfully & peacefully separate without all of the outside noise."
As for why she chose to go public with this news? Taylor wrote, "The narratives are getting a little out of hand & it’s unfair to all parties involved. I hope this provided some clarity for y’all. Okay AunTey taking y’all back out the chat bye!"
Taylor's celebrity friends were quick to rally around her in the comments. For instance, Kelly Rowland dropped some supportive emojis, including, "🙏🏾♥️🙏🏾."
Keke Palmer also chimed in, noting, "With grace and class, God bless you and your beautiful family."
Taylor and Shumpert share two daughters together, named Iman "Junie" Tayla Shumpert and Rue Rose Shumpert.
