A Textile Expert’s Two-Story Brooklyn Townhouse Hits the Market for $3.3 Million

Textile obsessed businessperson Kate Reynolds is known for expertly curating rugs, fabrics, and wallcoverings from around the globe for her Manhattan design showroom, Temple Studio. Now, her own stylishly eclectic home in Brooklyn is on the market.

Asking $3.3 million, the renovated two-story townhouse is nestled in the charming Windsor Terrace neighborhood. Bordered by Park Slope and Kensington, the community’s name comes from the English city and was originally home to the Canarsee Indians before the land was acquired by John Vanderbilt. Following his death, the farmlands were divided into smaller bits, and by the turn of the 20th century, a village started to form.

Naturally, Reynolds’s Neo-Renaissance residence is already perfectly styled—though, it’s unclear whether the ultra-chic decor is included. Altogether, the sunny abode comprises three bedrooms and three bathrooms in a generous 2,707 square feet of living space. Throughout the updated home, there are tons of vintage textiles and playful wallpaper from the likes of Brooklyn’s Rebecca Atwood. Elsewhere, you’ll find neutrals mixed with vivid jewel tones, fluffy Moroccan rugs, and statement lighting. In addition, plenty of the home’s period elements remain intact, including ornate molding and decorative wainscoting.

A revamped Brooklyn townhouse in Windsor Terrace is up for sale.

“Original details blend seamlessly with contemporary design themes, creating effortlessly sophisticated interiors and cozy nooks that are warm and inviting,” notes the listing, which is held by Abigail Palanca of Serhant. The sprawling living room is decked out with trendy furnishings, including a sofa from ABC Carpet & Home and a chaise from Timothy Oulton. The kitchen is updated and unfussy with Calacatta Gold marble counters and white subway tiles. At the center is a large island snack bar, plus the space opens up to a casual dining area that leads to the back garden. Other spaces include a cozy home office and a sizable basement.

The updated kitchen has an in-eat island and breakfast nook with banquette seating.

If you’re daydreaming about the warmer days ahead, the revamped stunner has one of the most desired amenities among city dwellers—a backyard patio. The outdoor oasis is surrounded by private fencing and features stone pavers, banquette seating, and, for those with a green thumb, built-in planters. “This century-old brick-and-limestone rowhouse in Windsor Terrace offers a sanctuary from the city with tree-lined streets, front porches, and a park nearby,” writes the listing.

As of last summer, Brooklyn’s real estate market remains one of the most competitive in New York City, according to a report from StreetEasy. In June 2023, the median asking price increased by 0.5 percent, while the citywide average asking price clocked in at $1.09 million.
