Texas 2-Year-Old Uses Mom's Phone to Order 31 Cheeseburgers from McDonald's

Kelsey Burkhalter Golden assumed her two-year-old son Barrett was taking photos of himself on her phone, so she let him walk around the house with it on Monday.

"He was really just flicking it around and making like roller coaster moves with his arms and fingers," the Texas mom of three recalled to Today. "I thought he was just looking at his reflection and carrying the phone around and about 30 minutes later, I got a text from the DoorDash company that was like, hey, it's gonna take a little bit longer than usual to take your order."

Golden said she was confused but figured she had ordered Happy Meal lunches to be delivered to her other two kids at school—something she's done before—and simply forgotten.

Then the doorbell rang.

"So, I go and open the door and there's this girl standing there and she's like, 'Your 31 cheeseburgers?'" Golden told Today. "I just stared at her awkwardly for like 15 seconds but then I just took them, like, 'Oh, thank you!'

Apparently, her phone had left her phone unlocked and little Barrett managed to use the DoorDash app to order the $61.58 worth of McDonald's delivery. After a $16 tip and app fees, the total came to $91.70.

"He actually doesn't even like cheeseburgers. He ate half of one," Golden said. "We had about 30 and a half cheeseburgers on our hands."

So, she took to Facebook.

"I have 31 free cheeseburgers from McDonald's if anyone is interested," Golden captioned a photo of Barrett and his cheeseburger haul. "Apparently my 2-year-old knows how to order DoorDash."

She told Today that she also posted the photo to a local Facebook group and ended up giving them away to a large local family, the neighbors, and an expecting mom.

Golden doesn't think Barrett is some type of "boy genius" that was craving cheeseburgers. He's just a two-year-old who knows how to press buttons

"It was an innocent thing. He was just playing with my phone," she told Today. "I don't strive too much for perfection. My kids are really super happy and that's what matters.
