Um, pardon me—are we in a safe space? Yes? Okay *takes deep breath*. Hi, my name is Annabel and I am a chaotic sleeper. I’m not sure how it happens—mostly because I’m knocked the hell out during the bulk of the action—but once I wake up in the a.m. hours, I’ve successfully tossed and turned my sheets into a wrinkled memory of the setup that once was. And not to be dramatic, but I don't wanna live like this anymore!

As a lifelong worshipper of Oprah Gail Winfrey, I tend to eat up any and all life advice the mogul has to offer. As such obsession admiration has proven, I just so happen to know that chaotic sleeping is on the very short list of things O and I have in common. So when I saw that she named the Cozy Earth Bamboo Viscose sheet set as one of her Favorite Things a few years ago, I knew that type of praise didn't come lightly. And real talk? Ever since *I* began using the sheet set, my messed up morning bedding situation no longer exists.

Based on some light research, I've deduced this development came about because I’m a naturally hot sleeper. Since Cozy Earth's bamboo viscose material—the fabric made from the wood pulp of a bamboo tree—is so cool, I finally look like one of those still and peaceful rom-com protagonists while at rest (minus the full makeup beat when I wake up in the a.m.)! This was just one of my many findings from using Oprah’s favorite sheet set this past week. Because I mean, if it’s good enough for the queen of daytime television, then who am I to resist a trial run? Please, allow me to break down the full Cozy Earth experience right below so you, too, can sleep like a billionaire with perfect hair.

How to maintain bamboo sheets

Before we get into the nitty gritty details, let's talk about taking care of these here linens. In my experience, the upkeep has been pretty calm. Machine wash these sheets on cold with regular laundry detergent and no fabric softener. For the dryer, use a low heat setting and add dryer balls to reduce the wrinkles. Wool dryer balls will also keep the sheets from getting tangled up during the drying process. There's one laundry day frustration eliminated! Now, onto the fun stuff!

Pros

It's produced and packaged sustainably

The fitted sheet, top sheet, and pillowcases all arrived in the most adorable reusable branded tote bags (I used one of them during a movie outing and received exactly one (1) compliment, so that’s a small win in my book). As someone who *attempts* to be a bit less wasteful on the day-to-day, my efforts often feel thwarted by the transparent volume of plastic that my purchases usually arrive in. Shoutout to Cozy Earth for that conscious decision.

Beyond the packaging waste reduction, the set’s material is made with extracted cellulose from a bamboo plant. During production, bamboo sheets actually don't need the same amount of pesticides and harmful chemicals that other textiles (like cotton) may require, since the bamboo plant grows so quickly and self-regenerates. TL;DR: The Google rabbit hole I went down about the environmental benefits of bamboo sheets left me feeling a tad better about my carbon footprint.

The sheets actually feel softer than snow

I’m not being funny—it’s like sleeping on pure silk, a cloud, and the most gentle cotton all in one. Since bamboo has been the bedding material of the moment for the past couple of years, I’ve become very familiar with its benefits, like the fact that the sheets are temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, and breathable. To all of my fellow hot sleepers: It has been very nice to not jolt awake in the dead of night and flail my comforter off of me in overheated frustration.

They're super low-maintenance

After a round in the washer and dryer, the set was severely wrinkled. But after about a day or so back on my bed, it mostly straightened out on its own (no need to whip out the steamer!). I also ordered Cozy Earth’s matching duvet cover for consistency, but I somehow managed to get a disgusting black candle ash stain on it? I’m still not totally sure when or how this went down. Anyway, it proved to be good for ~testing purposes~ because it was washed out of this duvet cover in one go with nothing more than a Tide pod! Love that for me and for this material.

They fit my mattress like a glove

I can not emphasize enough how serious the beef is between me and most of the fitted sheets in my bedding collection. They snap at me in the middle of the night, they refuse to calm down, and I’m pretty convinced that they’re all trying to shrink on me. This bad boy hasn’t shifted on me once, and I’ve got an average full-sized mattress that's 12 inches deep. I respect any fitted sheet with loyalty and commitment to its craft.

Cons

The price

I’m not here to pocket watch, but typically on my dime, I would not cough up over $300 for sheets. Now that I’ve spent some quality time with this set, I will admit that the quality is pretty much worth the price tag. But before the investment is made, my fellow indecisive baddies should know about Cozy Earth’s “100 Night Sleep Trial,” aka the three months-plus you get to sleep on their sheets and decide if you want to return or exchange them. However, if you’re still hesitant about making the purchase, you’ve hit the jackpot today. You can use our code COSMOLOVES at checkout for 35% off of Cozy Earth items Site! Wide! That’s $120 off for this particular set 👀. Merry Christmahanakwanzika from our family to yours <3.

The bottom line

Sure, these sheets are an investment, but IMHO, it's one worth making. It's been very nice slipping into bed and knocking out immediately, and I'd say these sheets (and the elimination of my hour-long pre-bed TikTok scrolling hehe) have made that a consistent reality. They're cozy and bundle me up without feeling stuffy on the nights when my heat's on full blast. Looking forward, I want to check out one of the deeper colors that this sheet set is offered in—something tells me that this fabric in olive or clay would look chic as hell, and that's the vibe I'm personally chasing.
