Neglecting any part of your wardrobe could jeopardize your performance, or worse: encourage additional heckling nonsense. Most compression socks are knee-high, and don’t quite cut it when you’re looking for on-the-bike style. But when it comes to compression wear, there’s a dirty little secret: It feels good, and it works. CEP has this figured out, and offers a low-rise compression sock you'll be proud to show off.

CEP claims that its progressive compression technology encourages blood flow and decreases muscle vibration, so that you stay fresher on the bike longer. I won’t make any scientific claims, but I will say that the Dynamic+ Compression socks are really, really comfortable. The CEP sock rises to my low-calf, so they are acceptable even for the most style-conscious cyclist. Made from nylone, elastane, and polypropylene, these socks are light, thin, and durable. They feel like a super comfy version of high-end bib shorts—without the chamois, of course—but for your feet. They were thin enough to fit in a pair of my Italian (read “form-fitting”) cycling shoes, and they kept my feet cool and blister-free, even on long, hot rides. These socks went on like a second skin: snug, and without any bunching, ever.

The first time I tried the Dynamic+ socks was at the end of a week of late nights and early mornings. About 30 miles into a ride, I actually noticed that I felt fresher on a climb than I thought I should. I noticed that my feet did not feel like they were swelling and pressing against the inside of my shoes. When I got back from that ride, sure enough I was on the KOM leaderboard for a segment—on a recovery ride.

Running while wearing these cycling socks was also a really positive experience. The compression was certainly noticeable, and even more so the morning after each test run: I was not sore. And, just like on the bike, I experienced no chafing, hotspots, or blisters.

If you find yourself running with your bike, repeatedly hopping off and back onto it for whatever your reason, these socks are a great option. They stay put through multiple flying mounts and dismounts, and they keep you feeling fresher for longer. For the style-conscious: The Dynamic+ socks come in six color-coordinating options, and they are the right height for cycling socks.
