Tesla Is Now Selling Some Exceedingly Limited Beer

Still, you'll likely get your hands on this beer way sooner than the Cybertruck.

Almost exactly two years ago, Tesla CEO Elon Musk held an “Oktoberfest-style” event at the company’s then under-construction Gigafactory in Berlin, Germany. Musk described the many features that would eventually be implemented at the facility, then added that there would even be an on-site beer. As he spoke, a rendering of the GigaBier and its Cybertruck-inspired bottle was projected on a screen behind him — and that brew has since become a reality.

In May, GigaBier, a German pilsner, was made available for purchase in parts of Europe. A three-pack of 11-ounce bottles cost a not-insignificant $97, but the pricy suds couldn’t be shipped to the United States. But American Tesla-and-beer lovers don’t have to wait any longer, as the company is now taking orders for two-packs of Tesla CyberBeer, which are sold in a limited-edition set that also includes a pair of reusable ceramic CyberSteins.

Like its European counterpart, the CyberBeer is packaged in an angular glass bottle that, again, is meant to conjure images of Tesla’s long-awaited CyberTruck. The black bottles feature a CyberBeer watermark on one side, and on the other, have an illustration of a hedgehog raising a glass beneath the caption “Haha cheers.” (That cartoon is a reference to Tesla’s order confirmation screen, which featured another hedgehog under the words, “Haha yes.”

According to the product description, the 7% ABV CyberBeer is a Helles Lager made with two noble hops, Saaz and Hallertau Mittelfrüh. The company says that the beer’s tasting notes are “herb and spice” with “aromas of tea and citrus,” and it was brewed by Torrance, California’s Buzzrock Brewing Company.

In keeping with Tesla’s other one-off products, the Limited Edition beer and stein set isn’t cheap. The retail price for two bottles and two glasses … er, sorry, CYBERSTEINS ... is $150, plus $15 shipping. The CyberBeer is scheduled to start shipping later this month. Unfortunately, the accompanying stainless steel CyberOpener ($50) has already sold out.

There’s an almost 100% chance that you’ll have your CyberBeer in hand (or in the fridge) before anyone has a CyberTruck in their garage. Business Insider reports that although production of the distinctively shaped vehicles began over the summer, the company has yet to announce a delivery date, and the customers who purchased tickets for a launch party based around the arrival of their aggressively angular trucks have not been informed when that event will take place. And no CyberTrucks were included in the company’s third-quarter delivery numbers.

It’s a good thing those CyberSteins are reusable because anyone waiting on a CyberTruck may need another drink by now.
