Tennessee Bike Park Reopening After Extended Closure

Windrock Bike Park, Oliver Springs, Tennessee's year round shuttle park, is open again after a little hiatus due to weather. The park was hit with an unseasonable snowstorm last week and forced to shut its doors for a little while.

But fret not, the park is shooting to be back open today, January 26th. Take a look at their official announcement below.

It appears that the only hangup at the moment is just that the road is iced over still and not entirely safe for a shuttle rig to run on all day yet. But, according to the social media of some of the park crew, the trails look like they're actually pretty ready to be open for business.

Also, it looks like the weather is going to be hovering around 50º for the next few weeks out there, so this might be the only real cold snap the park sees this winter.

It is incredibly enviable to see that the good people of the southeast can consistently ride all year round, give or take. I am sure I speak for many of us in the Mountain West when I say that only having to take a few weeks of bike season - especially park season - every year would be a dream come true.

What's more, to be able to ride year round at Windrock is like living in a fantasy land. I couldn't imagine having a top tier downhill park run by Aaron Gwin right in my backyard.

Anyway, the cold snap is over so, folks in the area, get out there and ride your bike. Know that all of us in the rest of the country are jealous.
