MANITOWOC - Tattoos have entered the mainstream. From the barbed-wire armband of the 1990s, to the fingerstache of the early 2000s to today’s minimalist designs, tattoos are a popular way for folks to express their creativity, personality and beliefs.

In recognition of National Tattoo Day July 17, we are looking for readers willing to share pictures and stories about their favorite inks. When and why did you decide to get a certain tattoo? What does it mean to you? Anyone with any regrets?

If you’ve got a tattoo story you’re willing to share with our readers, we would love to hear from you! Contact reporter Patti Zarling at pzarling@gannett.com or call 920-606-2586.
