Teenager Is Making the World a Better Place By Sewing Doggy Bowties For Shelter Pups

New Jersey teenage found his passion for sewing and making bowties at eight years old. After hearing about the destruction of Hurricane Harvey and Irma and that animals were being displaced, his passion fueled an idea.

Sir Darius Brown, known on Instagram as @sirdariusbrown, decided to gift the bowties to shelter dogs with the hope the bowties would make dogs look adorable, increasing their chances of adoption. Check out the Oregon shelter he's helped!

Aww, we couldn't love this anymore! Seeing stories like this gives us so much hope for the future. Everyone could take a page from this teenager's book on how to care for all living creatures in the world.

His hard work over the last few years with this project, known as Beaux and Paws, has not gone unnoticed. He's received several awards including "The Global Child Prodigy Award." Plus, President Barack Obama sent him a personalized letter, commending him on his project and commitment to community service. Woah, that doesn't happen every day! Sir Darius has helped raise over $300,000 for animal shelters, sponsor adoption fees, donate to the Make-A-Wish Foundation to sponsor a Puppy Wish, create Wag Bags, and give thousands of bowties to places across both the US and the UK.
