Marshay Collier told KCCI that her 10-month-old daughter, Camiya, was a driving force behind her finally receiving her diploma. Dressed in a pink cap and gown, Camiya was right with Collier when she finally walked across the stage.
"I was so excited to walk the stage," Collier told the station. She admits that there were moments throughout her high school career when she didn't think she would actually graduate, especially with the added responsibility of raising a child. After Jensen accepted her diploma, her 2-year-old daughter ran up to her during the ceremony.
"She came crying and running up to me and then it made me cry because I was able to tell her I did it," Jensen said. "Your mommy did it!"
