ST. LOUIS — St. Louis celebrates the 95th anniversary of dessert haven Ted Drewes, coinciding with the debut of their latest indulgence, “Karlie Konrete,” paying homage to St. Louis native superstar Karlie Kloss.

“She was beyond excited. She… I had no idea! And I think her exact words were, ‘How do you top this? I’ve achieved my major goals in life,” said Tracy Kloss, mother of Karlie Kloss.

Hundreds of eager customers lined up for a taste of the renowned St. Louis custard, with some making the journey from Michigan to join the celebration. To mark the occasion of 95 years, they offered a special 95-cent cone as a token of appreciation to loyal patrons.

“This is a wonderful day for us!  95 years and it’s all because of St. Louis. We’re really happy that all of these people are here to celebrate with us,” said Travis Dillion, owner of Ted Drewes Frozen Custard Inc.

Attendees had a plethora of activities to enjoy, including photo opportunities with Fredbird and the chance to win Cardinals tickets, along with complimentary snacks provided by local businesses. The St. Louis Fashion Fund played an instrumental part in this collaboration.

“It was our brilliant idea to enlist Ted Drewes to come up with a Karlie Kloss concrete when we did a street naming for her in downtown St. Louis a couple weeks ago,” said Susan Sherman, Board Chairman, The St. Louis Fashion Fund.

“Just a great big thank you from Karlie and our family for this great honor. Between the Fashion Fund and Ted Drewes, of course, creating the Karlie Koncrete,” said Tracy Kloss, mother of Karlie Kloss.

The Karlie Koncrete is a combination of chocolate chips, granola, almonds, and creamy vanilla custard in honor of Karlie’s signature cookie. Several have said this captures the essence of both St. Louis tradition and supermodel style.
