Team up With Mattress Mack to Help Feed Houston Seniors and Out-Of-School Kids During Coronavirus Outbreak

Jim "Mattress Mack" McIngvale is at it again. As the coronavirus bears down on the U.S., the famously philanthropic businessman is rallying Houston residents to come together and donate non-perishable food items like canned goods and unused toiletries that will be dropped off to area seniors.

"We're going to ask for lots of volunteers to come pick these items up take them to seniors homes or we'll leave them outside on the front door step so we won't contaminate that way,” McIngvale announced via Facebook Live on Sunday.

McIngvale, who turned two of his furniture stores into makeshift shelters during Hurricane Harvey, added that Gallery Furniture has also teamed up with Killens BBQ to help feed help low-income children while they’re out of school.

“We're going to cook BBQ here every day so the school children who need food can come by and grab a brown paper sack full of BBQ or chicken," he said.
