Tayshia Adams is one of the most beloved people in Bachelor Nation. The California native first appeared on Colton Underwood's season of The Bachelor, which premiered in January 2019, and was one of the final three contestants alongside Hannah Godwin and Cassie Randolph. She was ultimately eliminated after Underwood fell in love with Randolph, but then Adams appeared on season six of Bachelor in Paradise and started a relationship with John Paul Jones (from Hannah Brown's season of The Bachelorette). Sadly, that fizzled too.

Now she's taking on a completely new role in Bachelor Nation. As you know, Clare Crawley's season of The Bachelorette kicked off on October 13, and from the start there were rumors floating around about what would happen. The wildest? That Crawley fell for a contestant quickly into filming, leaves the show, and is replaced by Adams. And the rumors were true! In an unprecedented move, Crawley found love with Dale Moss and decided to end her journey on The Bachelorette. Two Bachelorettes in one season? The drama! That Adams is the second Black Bachelorette in history (following Rachel Lindsay) makes this development only more exciting.

So what do we know about Tayshia Adams? For one, she's very active on social media, with more than 850,000 followers, but here are some things you may not know about her…

She has a large family, and they’re super close.

She loves sharing moments with her parents (Rosario and Desmond) and siblings Desmond Jr., Brice, and Dominique on social media.

She was a phlebotomist.

This is how we met her on The Bachelor. For those who don't know, that's someone who draws a person's blood for clinical or research reasons. Of course, she's since given that up to do…whatever Bachelor Nation people do! (And as of March 2019, she was working at an interior design firm, according to Vulture.)

She has a bachelor’s degree in biology.

From Concordia University Irvine. Hence why she became a phlebotomist.

She’s divorced.

Adams was married to Joshua Bourelle for less than two years. They divorced in October 2017. “I felt a lot of pressure to make sure that my marriage worked,” she told Dean Unglert on his Help! I Suck at Dating podcast in 2019, per Us Weekly. “So at the same time I made sure to do everything I needed to do in order to know that I did everything I could at the end of the day. It definitely was scary to tell my parents it’s just not working out. Before my divorce, I really wasn’t open with my parents about every single thing that was going on in my relationship-slash-me in general. But because of my divorce, I opened up a lot more and they are now my closest friends in a way.”

She’s from Orange County, California.

Corona Del Mar, specifically. Maybe in 20 years she'll be on The Real Housewives of Orange County? I'd tune in!

Her “favorite word” is brunch.

According to this Instagram post. Relatable!

She was a Girl Scout for 12 years.

According to Marie Claire. I wonder what her favorite cookie flavor is!

She was reportedly dating someone right before leaving to film Underwood’s Bachelor season.

“I moved some things around…before she ended up deciding to leave [for The Bachelor], because she still wasn’t really sure if she was going to go on the show or not,” the BF in question told Us Weekly in February 2019. “She was still back and forth…she wasn’t sure. As it got closer, I could kind of see changes between us and I could kind of tell that she was leaning toward going. I don’t know all of the exact reasons for that.”

Regardless of what happened, it's led Adams to The Bachelorette (well, reportedly). We can't wait to see what happens this season.
