It’s a watch (Taylor’s Version). Tonight, Taylor Swift walked the Grammys red carpet wearing a watch, but she put her own twist on the time-tested accessory. Rather than wearing it on her wrist, the pop star wrapped it around her neck as a choker. The piece comes from jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz.

The past 12 months have been defined by Swift, undoubtedly, but also by innovative ways to wear watches. Like Swift, Rihanna has experimented with a watch choker as well as a watch anklet. In her Rolling Stone cover shoot, Olivia Rodrigo wore a skirt made out of wristwatches. Megan Thee Stallion also posted a photo of her wearing a ring that told the time on every finger.

Swift’s timepiece plays extravagantly into her black-and-white Schiaparelli ensemble at the Grammys. The watch’s band is made out of glimmering black stones while the watch face features a classic white dial and square design. “Taylor is wearing a custom-made vintage watch that was turned into a choker,” a rep for Schwartz said. “She's in 300 carats of Lorraine Schwartz Diamonds.” The vintage watch appears to be the Concord brand—one of the leading luxury timepiece brands in the first half of the last century. The brand supplied Cartier, Tiffany & Co., and Van Cleef & Arpels with timepieces. The watches were so nice that, during World War II in 1942, President Truman presented Concord pieces as gifts to both Joseph Stalin and Winston Churchill.

With Swift, there’s always a deeper meaning behind her sartorial choices. Notably, Swift recently changed her profile picture to black and white and her outfit tonight mirrors that scheme. The black-and-white outfit nods to her Reputation album. The watch is set to midnight which could have two different meanings: a reference to the fact Reputation dropped at midnight or an homage to the album Midnights, which is nominated for Album of the Year at the Grammys. The black-and-white watch might also refer to Swift’s newly announced album Tortured Poets Department and its moody cover. The announcement also includes the line: “The tick, tick, tick of love bombs.” Do you know what else ticks?!

As a watch nerd, I welcome Swift heartily to this world. Swift has buoyed economies across the world with her tours and spiked NFL ratings. Now, finally, watch geeks can revel in the new glow of Swift’s attention. Next, given the fact she has a lot of traveling to do to make it to the Super Bowl—where boyfriend Travis Kelce is playing for the Kansas City Chiefs—she might want to try out a GMT.
