Taylor Swift's Documentary Features a Joe Alwyn Appearance

From the looks of it, Taylor Swift's upcoming Netflix documentary features a look into the singer's public image, her political identity, and in a nice turn of events, her boyfriend Joe Alwyn.

It might not be super shocking that Swift's boyfriend shows up in a documentary about her life, but given that the two have been as private as possible about their relationship, it is a pleasant surprise. In a trailer for the doc, titled Miss Americana, Swift can be seen hugging Alwyn while she discusses happiness in her own terms in a voiceover narration.

Swift and Alwyn have been linked since late 2016 after her split from actor Tom Hiddleston. Though they've now been spotted at a few public events together, they've made it a point not to attend red carpets together or talk about each other directly.

"I’m aware people want to know about that side of things," Alwyn said about the public interest in their relationship in 2018. "I think we have been successfully very private and that has now sunk in for people … but I really prefer to talk about work."

Swift also explained to The Guardian last year that they purposefully spend as little time in public as possible to keep things low-key.

"I’ve learned that if I do, people think it’s up for discussion, and our relationship isn’t up for discussion. If you and I were having a glass of wine right now, we’d be talking about it – but it’s just that it goes out into the world," she said. "That’s where the boundary is, and that’s where my life has become manageable. I really want to keep it feeling manageable."
