Taylor Swift Wore a Snakeskin Backpack on the Anniversary of Her Feud With Kim Kardashian

"Happy World Snake Day Mother of Snakes."

Taylor Swift might have been out of the spotlight as of late, but she took advantage of the anniversary of the beginning of her feud with Kim Kardashian and husband Kanye West to remind us all that she — at very least — has not forgotten. Stepping out in New York City on July 17 wearing a snakeskin backpack, it seemed a silent nod to the ongoing shade that has been thrown between the trio (and their fans).

In short, Kim referred to Taylor as a snake back in 2016 after Kanye wrote the lyrics “I feel like me and Taylor might still have sex/I made that b**ch famous.” Since then, fans have been flooding social media on both sides with snake emojis (and now rats…) to show their support for either side. While the feud has died down in its entirety, Taylor may have used fashion to remind the world that she is not yet over it — at least according to her fans.

Over the past few years, various other celebrities have seemed to show their support for Taylor through fashion, whether it was Selena Gomez wearing her “Reputation” merch with the snake motif, or Bella Hadid’s snake-printed crop top. It seems as though the snake is not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Taylor Swift's colorful snakeskin backpack is from Kate Spade, and it's not yet available for purchase but will be, come fall. She styled it with a printed jumpsuit from Fausto Puglisi that clashed in print, though matched in color, boasting a palm pattern and zip-front silhouette. It was made custom for Taylor, but is created from the same pattern that her T-shirt and thigh-high boots from the designer were created in from her “Look What You Made Me Do” music video last summer.
