Taylor Swift is dealing with two back-to-back public breakups—although according to multiple sources in multiple outlets, her relationship with Matty Healy wasn’t all that serious. But either way, Taylor was seen getting visibly emotional while performing “I Don’t Wanna Live Forever” on the piano during a recent stop on the Eras Tour.
In a video posted by @queen.taylor.swiftie (and making the rounds on Twitter), Taylor is seen getting visibly emotional while singing the lyrics “wondering if I dodged a bullet or just lost the love of my life.”
According to the Daily Mail, the footage was taken during a Chicago Eras show this past weekend—right before news of Taylor and Matty Healy’s breakup dropped on Monday, June 5. But before you jump to too many conclusions, it’s possible Taylor was getting emotional about something/someone else! Or maybe she was just moved by the lyrics!
Anyway, a source recently told Page Six that Taylor isn’t too torn up about things between her and Matty ending, saying, “She will not be writing albums about this one. It was a summertime thing. Does everyone have amnesia about Tom Hiddleston? Jesus Christ.” They added that “[Taylor] can’t have a good time with anyone without the press marrying her off to them. Then when she moves on, they have to basically have her file for divorce.”
The insider also pointed out that Taylor is “allowed to let off some steam and sow some oats afterward without people claiming first that she’s ‘head over heels’ and then that she’s ‘breaking up’ with the guy. It’s not a breakup. It’s a natural evolution of a fun little thing whose moment is over.”
