And maybe her goth era?

We're sure you've heard by now that Taylor Swift has officially entered a new era. On April 19, the singer finally released her highly-anticipated new album,The Tortured Poets Department, with 30 (!) new songs. Where Zendaya and Margot Robbie "method dress" when it comes to their movies, Swift does something similar with her albums. So, when the black-and-white album art was released and she wore the same shades to the Grammys, Swifties were convinced that her new era would follow suit. And they were right. Now, Swift is keeping with the black and white theme with a pair of skinny '20s brows.

On April 18, Swift posted a sneak peek of the music video for the song "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone on her Instagram. It's hard to tell exactly what she's wearing in the short clips (shot in black and white, of course) however, what is noticeable are her edgy skinny brows. Swift doesn't often change her look this drastically, so when she does, it feels monumental.

In the video, Swift is wearing a very similar dress to the one she wore at the Grammys, along with a high-neck black gown that looks like it came out of the Victorian era. The video feels very Edgar Allen Poe-esque—Malone is seen typing on a typewriter, with Swift running into his arms—and it would make sense, given the title that her new era is a nod to classic poets.

And then, there were her skinny brows. We didn't catch too many beauty details in the quick clip, but her thin, arched brows were hard to miss. Don't worry Swifties, we'd wager these aren't her real brows. To get this effect, she likely glued down her eyebrows and painted over with concealer to create a base, then drew on the new brows overtop. It gave her entire look a vintage-y feel—perhaps a nod to Clara Bow, a '20s It Girl and the name of one of her new songs—especially with the heavy shadow and similarly dark-shaded lip.

Because Swift's style is so casual, it's always interesting to see the Folklore singer transform into a new persona. While Swift is known for her bold red lip, she keeps the rest of her beauty simple with a glowy base and tiny touch of bronzer and blush. She usually wears champagne or tawny-colored shadows with her signature cat-eye and wispy lashes. This almost gothy look for The Tortured Poets Department is perhaps her biggest transformation yet.

With the Met Gala theme "Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion" some expect to see vintage and historical fashion take life on the Met Museum steps, and given Swift's new era, we're likely to see something interesting come the first Monday in May.
