How Taylor Swift Is Stealthily Contributing to Local Charities Along ‘Eras’ Tour Route

So far, food banks in Arizona and Nevada have expressed their gratitude to the super star.

Taylor Swift may be caught up in the whirlwind of her first tour in five years, but she's not letting that love spiral cloud her thoughtful nature.

The 33-year-old megastar kicked off her highly anticipated, impossible-to-score-tickets-to Eras Tour this past weekend in Glendale, Arizona, where she played two sold-out shows to approximately 70,000 people each night.

Forbes predicts that it'll make her the highest-grossing female touring artist of all time, and in turn, she's giving right back to the communities hosting her each weekend throughout the summer.

Ahead of opening night on March 17, Swift donated an undisclosed amount to the Arizona Food Bank Network, a contribution that a representative for the charity called "generous."

Terri Shoemaker, Vice President of External Relations at the Arizona Food Bank Network, shared the news with AZ Central, telling the publication, "It's not every day that you get a call from someone who works in PR for Taylor Swift, so we were dubious at first, but happily, it turned out to be absolutely real."

Shoemaker also emphasized the impact of donations from such a high-profile individual. "...hunger is still a problem in the U.S. It's here and it's a problem across the country. The recognition of that is so important..." she said.

Earlier this week, on Wednesday, March 22, Three Square, a Las Vegas-based food bank associated with Feeding America, shared similar news on Instagram.

"We don't know about you, but we're feeling grateful on this day, March 22!," they wrote, playing on the lyrics of Swift's hit single "22."

They continued, "@TaylorSwift has made a generous gift to Three Square, allowing us to provide thousands of meals to families and individuals struggling with hunger. Thank you to Ms. Swift for supporting our mission and the local community."

It certainly comes as no shock to her fanbase. Swift has topped the list of most charitable celebs several times throughout her epic career, though she rarely speaks up about her contributions, whether she's donating tens of thousands of dollars for a good cause, spending time with her fans in the hospital, shipping them packages full of hand-picked Christmas gifts, or PayPalling them to help alleviate the weight of their student loans; it's always the recipients that bring attention to her generosity.

"I love Taylor and her heart so much 💖," one fan commented on Three Square's post.

"I absolutely love Taylor & I am not surprised she continues to be so generous. 💕," wrote another.

"That’s so awesome Ty @taylorswift our community really needs it ☮️❤️," a local resident expressed their gratitude.

"Its nice to hear some families don't have to worry about for food a little. It's one less stress off the table for them. Thank You @taylorswift," said another.

Just this week, Swift also made good on a years-long promise to a young fan, delighting the girl and her family.
