Taylor Swift performs during 'Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour' at the National Stadium on March 2, 2024, in Singapore.

Taylor Swift’s six Singapore tour dates this month mark a segment of her Eras Tour that is particularly special for the Swift family, the “All Too Well” singer shared during her first night performing at Singapore’s National Stadium.

Swift, 34, explained that her mother, Andrea Swift, spent time in Singapore as a child and enjoys visiting her old neighborhood while tagging along with her daughter on tour.

“My mom actually spent a lot of her childhood with her mom and dad and sister growing up in Singapore,” Swift told fans while sitting at a piano onstage. “A lot of the time when we would come here on tour, my mom would take me and drive me past her old house, and where she used to go to school.”

Swift said she has heard stories about her mom’s time in Singapore “my whole life.” She thanked the “beautiful, generous people” who were “essentially honoring my family” with their reactions to her performance.

“It means the world,” she told her audience. “I already love you.”

The “Blank Space” singer played her first Eras Tour show in Singapore on Saturday, March 2. Swift has five additional shows in Singapore with her opener, Sabrina Carpenter, before she heads to Paris for the launch of her tour’s European leg.

Swift’s shows in Singapore follow three dates in Melbourne and four dates in Sydney last month. Her Australian shows marked her first time touring in the country since 2018.

During her first night in Singapore, Swift shed light on the idea behind her Eras Tour. She first took a short poll of her audience to learn who had seen her in concert before and who was taking in one of her shows for the first time before telling fans she loves “old friends and new friends exactly the same amount.”

“That’s the whole point of the Eras Tour,” she said. "If this is your very first time seeing me in concert, I wanted to kind of catch you up.” The structure of the shows, which takes audience members through each era of her career thus far, also provides fans with opportunities to take “a fun look at all the memories,” she added.
