Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez on Their Undying Support and Friendship

Taylena forever.

The legendary best friendship between Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez is definitely alive and well, as evidenced by two separate interviews where the musicians couldn't stop praising each other.

Both Taylor and Selena recently appeared on episodes of Zane Lowe's Apple Music Beats 1 show New Music Daily and talked about Selena's new songs, "Lose You to Love Me" and "Look at Her Now." As noted by Elle, the conversation steered towards the difficult periods of Selena's life and how those low times have helped her create this new music, which Taylor calls "her best stuff."

Taylor told Lowe that she believes "Lose You to Love Me," a song about learning from past relationships and growing from them, is "the best thing [Selena has] ever done." Taylor continued to praise her friend's work during the interview, saying, "She came over, she played me the video. I'm so proud of her. She's been through so much. I've watched so much happen in her life and had a front row seat to so much, and I'm so proud of her. She is such a revelation because now she's making her best stuff. I am 100 percent convinced this is the best thing she's done so far."

When it was Selena's turn to be interviewed, Lowe played the audio of Taylor praising her, and it clearly meant a lot to the star. "[Taylor has been an] amazing [friend]. For sure," Selena said. "She was frustrated when I was frustrated; she was sad when I was sad. But more than anything, my friends stood by my side. I think they visibly saw me in so much pain. And they didn’t want it for me but they never stopped loving me." Selena briefly teared up during the interview, then continued. "And I played [Taylor] the song; I played it with her mom and dad. I showed her the video, and her mom and Taylor started crying. And it wasn’t because the song was emotional. It was just because the first thing they said to me was, ‘We’re so happy that you’re here. After seeing all of that, this is such a cool moment.’ And that’s a huge thing for me."

According to Taylor, Selena's journey has been inspiring, and she's "proud" of her pal. "The things that she’s overcome, the situations she’s risen above, it’s been a long time since we were friends and she’s the best. She’s just the best," the "Lover" singer told Lowe. "I’m really excited because when somebody has had great life experience, has had really tough things they’ve had to go through and they can process that and make art that’s going to help other people, that’s what kind of song this is. I’m stoked."

Selena and Taylor have been BFFs forever, beginning in the late 2000s when Tay dated Joe Jonas and Selena dated Nick. Since then, they've written Instagram odes to each other, attended awards shows together, and played kickass fighters in Taylor's "Bad Blood" video. Taylor even has framed pics of Selena in her house. Their friendship is total goals, even a decade later, and we love seeing the two support and love each other through the hard times and the happy ones.
