Taylor Swift Just Dropped A New Song ‘The Archer’ and Called It Extremely ‘Emotional’

Taylor Swift just gave fans (aka Swifties) another taste of her upcoming album Lover. On Tuesday, the singer dropped “The Archer”her third song from the album.

In her latest Instagram Live, the 29-year-old revealed new details about the special editions of her upcoming album as well as info about the latest song.

“There’s a lot that’s covered emotionally, and I really wanted to give you track five before the album came out,” said Swift. “I didn’t realize I was doing this, but as I was making albums, I guess I was just kind of putting a very vulnerable, personal, honest, emotional song as track five.”

If you didn’t know, track five on each album is always the most, personal, vulnerable and emotional song (previously Dear John and All Too Well). Therefore, fans have been waiting (im)patiently for track five since the announcement of Lover.

“So because you noticed this, I kind of started to put the songs that were really honest, emotional, vulnerable and personal as track five, so that has definitely happened in the case of track five on this album, Lover,” she added.

However, the new song isn’t an official single (the first two being “ME!” and “You Need to Calm Down”), which means there’s no music video for it.

Oh, and did we mention she’s released 120 scanned pages of her old diaries? We’re serious. Lover is set for release on August 23.
