Taylor Swift Fans Think Travis Kelce Gave Her a Very Big Ring for Her Birthday

UPDATE: December 22, 2023—Taylor Swift fans were both right and wrong about her birthday ring.

On December 21, Keleigh Sperry—wife of Miles Teller and close friend of Swift—revealed she was the one who purchased the large blue and white ring Swift sported on her birthday. “Love this ring I had made for my friend, she's so bejeweled,” Sperry wrote alongside photo of the ring, which many fans theorized was a gift from Travis Kelce.

While fans and media outlets were wrong about the ring's origins, some were right about one thing: The ring is made up of opal and blue topaz, which just so happen to be Kelce and Swift's birth stones.

“This is like a present for Elizabeth Taylor, not me,” Swift said in another video, which Sperry posted to her Instagram story.

Sperry replied, “You're my Elizabeth Taylor.”

ORIGINAL STORY: December 16, 2023—Travis Kelce was absent from Taylor Swift's big 34th-birthday bash on December 13, but that doesn't necessarily mean his presence wasn't felt.

In a couple of photos from Swift's night out at The Box with her famous friends, the pop star can be seen showing off a large ring to Miles Teller and his wife, Keleigh Sperry, and fans have reason to believe the bling was a gift from her NFL boyfriend.

The statement piece, which can also be seen on Swift's silver manicure in her Instagram carousel, features a large white stone encased in a ring of blue jewels. It went perfectly with her sparkling Clio Peppiatt minidress with crescent moon and star details, which she paired with black platform pumps and a glittering silver bag by Aquazzura. The entire look was very Midnights-coded.

Of course, Swifties have cause to think this bling came from Kelce (beyond recent tabloid rumors that the Chiefs player is gearing up to purchase another kind of ring—please listen to “Lavender Haze” again, y'all). As TikTok user @lesleeey13 pointed out in a video, the ring looks very similar to one that was shared on Instagram by Jay Feder Jewelers in August. You know who follows Jay Feder Jewelers on Instagram? Travis Kelce.

If Kelce did indeed buy this ring for Swift, her fans seem to approve. “It’s literally an Easter EGG! I say yes,” one fan commented on the TikTok post.

Others suggested the ring may be composed of opal and blue topaz, representing both Kelce’s and Swift’s birth stones. “He is an October birthday so the opal makes sense,” one fan wrote, while another commented, “His opal birthstone surrounded by hers.”

Despite Swifties' impressive sleuthing skills, there may be reason to doubt this fan theory. Based on the post's caption, the rainbow ring seems to be from the Sutra Jewels, a jewelry brand Swift has reportedly worn in the past but is not currently followed by Kelce. Of course, that doesn't mean he didn't place the order. Either way, the piece is definitely a conversation starter.
