9 Possible "Midnights" Theories That Prove Taylor Swift Fans Are The Smartest People In The World (No Exaggerations)
- Oops!Something went wrong.Please try again later.
If you haven't heard by now, Taylor Swift just dropped her 10th studio album, Midnights.
From "Karma" to "Sweet Nothing," Midnights is chock full of beautiful lyrics, imagery, and of course, brilliant Easter eggs and details.
Taylor Swift is the ultimate queen when it comes to sprinkling details into her songs and music videos, and of course, fans pick up on them right away.
Fans have come up with some pretty intriguing theories about Midnights that a lot of folks probably haven't even thought of. And as a Taylor Swift fan myself, they have totally blown my mind!!! So, here are some of the best theories so far:
Warning: Music spoilers ahead! 🚨
Reminder that these are just fan speculations, not solid facts!
1."You're on Your Own, Kid," the fifth track on Midnights, miiiiight reveal the name of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds' baby on the way.
WAIT SO RYAN REYNOLDS AND BLAKE LIVELY 4TH CHILD COULD BE NAMED DAISY MAE???Taylor?????
Swift referenced Lively and Reynolds' three daughters — Betty, James, and Inez — on her 2020 album Folklore, so this theory sounds pretty plausible to me.
You can listen to "You're on Your Own, Kid" here:
2.Taylor Swift fans think that "Question...?," the seventh track on Midnights, is about her ex-boyfriend Harry Styles.
question...? taylor swift midnights haylor harry styles new years kiss
The lyrics in the song's chorus seem to be a pretty big reference to Taylor and Harry's brief romance in 2012. "Can I ask you a question? Did you ever have someone kiss you in a crowded room — and every single one of your friends was making fun of you? But 15 seconds later they were clapping, too?" feels like a direct reference to Swift and Styles sharing a kiss on New Year's Eve in 2013.
You can listen to "Question...?" here:
3.All people can think about when Taylor sings the lyric "I don't dress for women, I don't dress for men — lately I've been dressing for revenge" is Princess Diana's iconic revenge dress from the '90s after divorcing Charles III. I mean, it would make sense in a song titled "Vigilante Shit."
You can listen to "Vigilante Shit" here:
4.People believe "Would've, Could've, Should've," the 19th track from Midnights — 3am Edition is about Taylor's relationship with John Mayer.
She was only 19 years old when she dated John Mayer (then 32) back in the late 2000s, and it's no coincidence that "Would've, Could've, Should've" is the 19th track on the special edition version (Queen! Of! Details!). The lyrics: "I would've stayed on my knees. And I damn sure never would've danced with the devil at 19 — and the god's honest truth is that the pain was heaven" is damning evidence.
You can listen to "Would've, Could've, Should've" here:
5.Taylor's music video for "Bejeweled" is mostly about her drama with Scooter Braun and Big Machine Records over the rights to her first six albums.
GUYS this is my Bejewelled MV Theory I wanted to share with you all because I think I’m on to something… #TaylorSwift #MidnightsTaylorSwift @taylorswift13 @taylornation13
Twitter user @absjcx did some serious math that adds everything up (pun intended). They believe "when the sisters leave to go get ready, they say: 'Let's go get our jewels.' [These] villains think selling the masters will pay off, however Taylor has a plan to reclaim them."
6.Also in the "Bejeweled" music video, the colors of the elevator floors hint that the next album Taylor is going to re-record is Speak Now.
Nothing brings out my conspiracy theories faster than @taylorswift13. If each of these floors represent an album, and the colours yellow (fearless), red (Red) and purple repeat, does that mean Speak Now is the next Taylor’s Version we’re going to get? Love the new music video!
Twitter user @Sjgpotter noticed that the numbers and the colors of the elevator floors have a solid connection. The first floor is green, which represents the color of Taylor's debut album Taylor Swift, the 11th floor is red, which represents her 11th album Red (Taylor's Version), and so on. The 13th floor is purple, which miiiight mean that she'll be releasing Speak Now (Taylor's Version) next, since the album cover is purple.

7.This shot from a teaser trailer Taylor shared on her Instagram might be a preview for the "High Infidelity" music video.
🔔hear me out I have a theory🔔 this clip is giving Harley Quinn, I think it's gonna be high infidelity's mv, which represents toxic relationship like Harley and joker.#MidnightsTS #Midnights #TaylorSwift
Fans think that because the shot is similar to one of Harley Quinn from the Suicide Squad movies that this is 100% from the "High Infidelity" music video. Quinn was in a toxic romantic relationship, and "High Fidelity" is about a toxic romantic relationship, so the comparison seems pretty darn valid.

8.Taylor's outfits in the "Anti-Hero" music video represent her struggles with fear, self-confidence, and isolation.
It's me.Hi.I made another theory on the Anti-Hero music video and now I'm putting it on the timeline for everyone to read. 👋#AntiHeroMusicVideo #TSAntiHeroChallenge #TSmidnighTS @taylornation13 @taylorswift13
