Taylor Swift Fans Aren't Happy with Olivia Rodrigo After She Sent a PR Box to Kim Kardashian

The usually very tight fandoms of Taylor Swift and Olivia Rodrigo have hit a rough patch and some Swifties are upset with Olivia after she sent a Sour PR box to Kim Kardashian, despite the fact that Kim and Taylor notoriously have beef.

On Tuesday, Kim posted a video on her Instagram Stories showing off some gifts from Olivia. "How cute is Olivia Rodrigo you guys?" Kim asked. "You guys know I love 'Drivers License.'"

Along with the gifts, Olivia wrote a note to Kim. "Thank you so much for supporting my music," she said. "It means the absolute world. I just adore you and I wanted to give you a few goodies to celebrate the release of my 1st album Sour. Sending you and your fam so much love."

As a reminder, Taylor has had a tumultuous relationship with Kim's soon-to-be ex-husband, Kanye West, ever since he interrupted her acceptance speech at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Then, when Kanye wrote a derogatory line about Taylor in his song "Famous," he claimed he asked her permission beforehand, which Taylor has repeatedly denied. That is when Kim inserted herself into the feud, saying in an interview with GQ that Taylor "totally knew" about the line and she pretended like she didn't to "play the victim again." Later, Kim even posted a video of Taylor and Kanye talking about the song on her Snapchat, to which Taylor responded, saying she was never made aware that Kanye was going to call her a b*tch. "I would very much like to be excluded from this narrative, one that I have never asked to be a part of, since 2009," she wrote.

So, now Swifties are upset that Olivia, who is a huge fan of Taylor, is sending Kim merch and notes. In response, many Swifties took to Olivia's most recent Instagram post and started commenting snake emojis, the unofficial symbol of Taylor and Kim's feud.

Other Swifties, however, in addition to Olivia's own fans, quickly came to her defense. "Olivia Rodrigo can act and promote her work and her art however she wants," one person wrote.

Others are upset that Swifties are trying to claim Taylor made Olivia famous. "Swifties obviously did not make Olivia famous nor Kanye did Taylor," someone wrote on Twitter. "Its their music who made them famous. Taylor had to fight this kind of situation back then. So don't repeat it with a new generation artist who is clearly a talented person."

As the supporters said, Olivia is just trying to promote her (amazing) album. Let's keep her out of beef she has no part in and just enjoy the new music she has gifted us.
