While most of Taylor Swift's other Reputation tracks have shown how she's gotten smarter, gotten harder in the nick of time, her latest single "Call It What You Want" sings a literally and figuratively softer tune:

Though all of Tay's music is deeply personal, this introspective track is the singer giving listeners a peek behind the many layers of her persona (self-made, media-made, music video-made) that she's been meticulously tracking and deconstructing during this press cycle. And as such, the song's lyric video is almost homespun in quality, featuring presumably handwritten lyrics and cute candids of the singer.

It seems obvious that the song is about British actor paramour Joe Alwyn, but it's worth noting that as she's dropping new music about him, the couple have shunned the photo opportunities and cute social media posts that used to be Tay's bread and butter. Which makes sense - as she sings it, their relationship has been all about staying away from the spotlight: "High above the whole scene / Loves me like I'm brand new"

Reputation drops on November 10; pre-order it here.
