Taylor Swift may have attended the AFC Championship game to support boyfriend Travis Kelce, whose team, the Kansas City Chiefs, went on to win the game and advance to the Super Bowl, but the Karma singer’s ’00s-inspired manicure is what truly stole the show.

Immediately following the Chiefs win against the Baltimore Ravens, Swift headed straight to the field to congratulate Kelce. “I’ve never see you like that,” she whispered into his ear, giving fans a glimpse of her early-aughts inspired manicure (and their love for each other, or whatever). “That was insane. I can’t believe it. I love you.” Very sweet. But let’s get back to the mani.

Long, square, and sparkling, Swift’s nails were a fairly off-brand choice for the superstar, who tends to keep them short (likely to play the guitar). Swift did however stay true to herself in terms of color coordination: Her shimmering coral nails complemented her sweater, which matched her signature red lip.

But the most interesting part of all? The nail shape. Swift’s long tips were filed into a bold, square shape, reminiscent of trending styles from the late ’90s and early ’00s. Now we’re kind of wondering…are square nails officially back?

It certainly seems so. Meghan Markle, the other people’s princess, wore a square-shaped mani on her most recent public outing with Prince Harry. So now that actual royalty and pop royalty have both confirmed it, I’d say it’s time to get our nail files ready.

Also of note? Swift’s mani’s color scheme. A master of manifestation, having written the lyrics “She’s cheer captain / And I’m on the bleachers” in 2008 long before she knew she’d be dating a literal NFL star, Swift may have opted to paint her nails an orange-red shade of coral, as opposed to her classic red, to manifest good vibes for the Chiefs game.

According to color magic, coral nail polish calls for passion, and most importantly, optimism, while true red shades represent creativity and power—both things for which Swift is more than well known. (And yes, red is also the color of the Kansas City Chiefs, but I’m a beauty writer, okay?)

We can’t wait to see Swift’s beauty look at Super Bowl LVIII, where the Chiefs will be up against the San Francisco 49ers. In the meantime, recreate Swift’s look and manifest your own passion and optimism with our favorite sparkling coral nail polish below.
