Taylor Swift’s “Call It What You Want” is basically a love letter to boyfriend Joe Alwyn

Were you ready for it? Taylor Swift dropped her newest single “Call It What You Want” tonight, and the lyrics are a major departure from the introductory “Look What You Made Me Do” that gave us insights to the new and improved Taylor.

A pop ballad both somber and upbeat (and dare I say, even a bit soulful), “Call It What You Want” rides on Swift’s new “I no longer care” rebel-girl persona — except this time, the revenge aspects are outweighed by the “I think I’m in love” aspects.

In the new lyric video, the pop singer croons:

“I want to wear his initials on a chain round my neck, chain round my neck, not because he owns me, but ‘cause he really knows me — which is more than they can say.”

“Call It What You Want” marks the fourth track from Swift’s upcoming sixth studio album, Reputation, which will be released on November 10th. The pop singer teased a series of Instagram posts in anticipation of the song release early Thursday, which featured lyrics in both typewritten and handwritten fonts on vintage, browned paper. The first post, which evoked the nostalgia of Swift’s “Love Story” days of lyricism, read: “But would you run away with me?” …” Yes”

“Call It What You Want” joins the ranks of tracks “Look What You Made Me Do,” “…Ready For It?” and “Gorgeous” — all of which illuminating a brand new Taylor Swift, thank you very much, one who boldly departs from her Red and 1989 persona laced with controversial celebrity feuds and relationships thrust into the spotlight. Those personas are dead, okay? They are unable to take your calls right now. Do not bother leaving a damn message. This is a generation that does not check voicemail.
