This year, Independence Day marked another milestone: Taylor Swift publicly brought back her annual Fourth of July party for the first time since 2016. The pop icon shared photos of the summer soireé via Instagram on the same day she released her new album Speak Now (Taylor’s Version), signaling that this summer is sure to be a good one.

The Independence Day party seemingly took place at Swift's Rhode Island beach house and boasted a star-studded guest list. For those who didn't get an invite, the singer blessed her followers with three photos of the affair. The first features Swift with Selena Gomez, the Haim sisters, stylist Ashley Avignone, and Sydney Ness—all hanging out on the grass near the water. The second is comprised of a collection of silly and sweet Polaroids the group took in Swift's kitchen, while the last photo is a solo pic of her wearing a floral dress and posing on an oceanside ledge.

"Happy belated Independence Day from your local neighborhood independent girlies 😎," Swift captioned the post. Since she's still traveling for her Eras Tour, she added, "See you tonight Kansas Cityyy."

Swift is known to hide an Easter egg or two in practically everything she does. When it comes to scouring these photos for a clue, the decor in her kitchen stands out. A few of the Polaroids show framed black-and-white photos hanging on a wall. One is of a man giving Swift a piggyback ride on the beach, and some fans are wondering if he's Swift's ex-boyfriend Joe Alwyn. Since the mystery man is wearing sunglasses, it's hard to be sure; InStyle points out that it could be the hostess's younger brother Austin Swift, as the photo next to the piggyback shot seems to be of a younger Taylor. In any case, the photos offer something to analyze!

One things that's not in question is the party's location. It took place at Holiday House, the Watch Hill, Rhode Island, home Swift purchased back in 2013 for $17.75 million. She even released a song about its dramatic previous owners in 2020. Since moving in, Swift has held numerous Fourth of July parties there with previous attendees including Blake Lively, Gigi Hadid, and Emma Stone.

Fingers crossed the return of the iconic girl gang celebration is here to stay (and that our invite doesn't get lost in the mail next year)! In the meantime, we'll gush over all of the homes she's owned during her many "eras."
