Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and More Stars Perform at the “One World: Together at Home” Concert

Concerts and tours might be on pause across the country, but some of the biggest celebs came together on Saturday, April 18 for the “One World: Together at Home” music event.

The star-studded concert was brought straight into our living rooms courtesy of Global Citizen and the World Health Organization, with musical curation from none other than Lady Gaga. Hosted by Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel and Stephen Colbert, the event featured a huge list of celeb performances, from Lizzo to Taylor Swift to Billie Eilish, and aimed to raise money for healthcare workers who are fighting on the front lines of the coronavirus pandemic. Following the events, Gaga and Global Citizen announced that they received $127.9 million in commitments for the cause.

Before the concert began, a multi-hour livestream kicked off the entire night, which included appearances from Niall Horan, Charlie Puth (and his unmade bed), Kesha, Liam Payne, Jennifer Hudson, SuperM, and more.

As for the actual concert, the event was filled with memorable appearances from so many of our faves, along with a spotlight on those helping to make a difference right now, from healthcare workers to essential employees to teachers and parents.

In case you missed it, or if you want to just relive the night one more time, check out some of our highlights below.

Lady Gaga started the show.

Mother Monster kicked off the event to welcome viewers and fans. Seated at a piano, she performed a cover of Nat King Cole's "Smile," telling everyone at home: "What I'd like to do is give you permission, at least for a moment, to smile."

Kacey Musgraves brought the rainbow.

It's no surprise that Kacey Musgraves chose to sing her iconic song "Rainbow," as the symbolic message of weathering a storm and coming out on the other side is something that we all need right now. Her at-home performance was interspersed with inspirational drawings of rainbows hanging in windows, or sketched out with sidewalk chalk by children, reminding us all that this storm, too, shall pass.

Camila Cabello and Shawn Mendes sang together — of course.

Camila and Shawn are currently self-isolating together, so it was expected that they'd team up for a duet. They performed a cover of Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World," with Shawn backing them both on piano. Those harmonies!

Beyoncé reminded us of some important facts about the COVID-19 pandemic we cannot ignore.

Appearing in a video segment, Queen Bey spoke about the importance of essential workers. "To those in the food industry, delivery workers, mail carriers, and sanitation employees, who are working so we can be safe in our own homes, we thank you for your selfless service," Beyoncé said. "Black Americans disproportionately belong to these essential parts of the workforce, and do not have the luxury of working from home." She went on to note that black communities have been severely affected by COVID-19, adding: "This virus is killing black people, and at an alarmingly high rate."

She ended her message with some powerful words to her fans. "I know it's hard, but please be patient, stay encouraged, keep the faith, stay positive, and continue to pray for our heroes."

Lizzo

Looking glamorous as ever, Lizzo showed off her impressive vocal range with a performance of Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come." After completely slaying the high notes, she thanked her fans and everyone watching, reminding everyone to stay safe, adding: "We'll get through this together."

John Legend and Sam Smith

John and Sam might not have been in the same room together, but that didn't stop the two singers from teaming up on a moving duet of Ben E. King's "Stand By Me." John accompanied both on piano, while Sam belted out the notes, the entire song culminating in impressive harmonies.

Billie Eilish

Seated alongside her brother Finneas at a piano, Billie sang a beautiful rendition of Bobby Hebb's "Sunny." Before she began, she explained: "I love this song, it's always warmed my heart and made me feel good, and I wanted to make you guys feel good."

Taylor Swift

Towards the end of the concert, Taylor performed "Soon You'll Get Better," from her Lover album — marking the first time she's performed it live. The singer-songwriter originally penned the lyrics in honor of her mother Andrea, who had been battling breast cancer at the time, and has previously explained that it was emotional for her to sing it. "That was really, really hard to write, and it was just a family decision whether to even put it on the album," she said in a YouTube livestream ahead of the Lover release. "We as a family decided to put this on the album, and it’s something I’m so proud of, but it’s just really hard. I can’t sing it. It’s hard to just emotionally deal with that song."

The finale was just as star-studded as the entire concert itself.

Lady Gaga returned once more to the mic, along with Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli, Lang Lang, and John Legend, to perform Dion and Bocelli's "The Prayer." It was undoubtedly an inspirational and moving note to end on, coupled with one last reminder to support healthcare workers, and do our part to unite as "one world."
