At the Wednesday night premiere of "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour" in Los Angeles, all eyes were on the woman of the hour. Stars such as Hayley Kiyoko, Maren Morris, Julia Garner and Adam Sandler showed up to support Taylor Swift, but she was the one who had the biggest surprise of all: inviting Beyoncé Knowles as her date.

For the red carpet, Swift donned a blue floral gown from Oscar de la Renta that's quintessentially "1989 (Taylor's Version)," ahead of the highly-anticipated album's release on Oct. 27. She also brought back the beloved bob; though there's some online debate about whether she actually cut her hair for the premiere, Swift pinned up her curly hair to mimic her iconic style, rather than going for the full chop. (Mother always has surprises up her sleeve.)

Beyoncé later joined her in a LaQuan Smith catsuit from the Spring 2023 collection that featured a silver sculptural bodice – very on-brand for the singer's "Renaissance" aesthetic — paired with black platform Naked Wolfe Spice boots and reflective sunglasses.

The duo are the undisputed queens of music. Beyoncé holds the most Grammy Award wins and recently smashed the record for the highest-grossing tour by a female artist with her electrifying "Renaissance" World Tour. Swift's concert film has already surpassed $100 million in advance ticket sales and the "Eras" Tour – which continues in Argentina in November – is expected to rake in more than $1 billion.

Though comparison often follows the two record-breaking artists (because how could two powerful women possibly share the spotlight?), they proved that real queens uplift and support each other. As Swift says, "We all got crowns."

Speaking of surprises, Swift announced on Instagram that early access showings for the Eras Tour concert film will be open tonight due to unprecedented demand, as well as additional showtimes throughout opening weekend. Looks like we'll have to make our friendship bracelets even faster now.
