The tension is palpable as we move into November, but despite an increasingly pressurized political climate, some positive shifts may offer some relief. For the past few weeks, Mercury has been retrograde, making you feel all sorts of uncomfortable. But, on November 3 (yes, ahem, Election Day), Mercury finally resumes its direct motion. And, just ten days later—on November 13—assertive Mars (the planet that governs action and determination) will also conclude its two-month retrograde. With both Mercury and Mars resuming normal function, we can look forward to some (much-needed and well-deserved) relief by mid-November.

Next, a New Moon in Scorpio on November 15 will mark the beginning of a new emotional cycle. With the Sun (symbolizing external identity) and Moon (representing your emotional inner-world) aligned in your partnership zone, this is an excellent time to follow your heart. There’s no question about it: You’re ready to make a big commitment. This auspicious New Moon suggests that love is right around the corner…but wait, it can’t be that easy…can it?

Of course not, Taurus! Everything—but especially romantic relationships—takes real, serious work. And when Sagittarius season begins on November 21, you remember that bonds aren’t just about “making it official” on social media. They’re a powerful emotional responsibility, too. This is an excellent time to reflect on how you see intimacy: What does it mean to be truly honest about your wants, needs, and desires? Try approaching a challenging situation from a completely different angle. Yes, it may be unfamiliar, but you’re a strong and resilient bull. The unknown is nothing to fear.

One of the hardest, most important lessons of November will come by way of the lunar eclipse on November 30. Under this sky, you’ll discover that not everyone keeps by the same code of ethics…which is exactly why you must hold yourself to the highest level of accountability. But remember, this eclipse is part of an ongoing series that will continue until next year, so give these narratives time to play out (in fact, a second eclipse in this series on December 14 will offer additional insight). Ultimately, this eclipse series will invite you to infuse some compassion into those messy, complicated parts of yourself. You don’t need to have everything figured out, Taurus. No one does!
