Target's New Valentine's Day Stanley Collection Sold Out in Minutes and Shoppers Are Outraged

The Stanley Tumbler craze took America by storm in 2023 and the trendy water bottle is still a hot ticket item going into 2024. Popular amongst tweens, teens, twenty-somethings and beyond it seems like these oversized tumblers are everywhere (and were featured in just about every Christmas haul video). Target has long been in on the Stanley hype, stocking a variety of Stanley products on their shelves, but now they've taken it a step further. Target and Stanley collaborated to release the limited edition Stanley Valentine's Day collection which flew off the shelves almost instantly. The collection includes a two pack of pink and red wine tumblers, matching 16 oz stacking pints, and the quintessential H2.0 40 oz tumbler in Target Red and Cosmic Pink.

The Valentine's Day Stanley collection hit the shelves of Target stores across America on December 31, selling out within minutes of the stores' opening which outraged many customers. "I wanted a red one so bad, my target was sold out by 8:05," one shopper wrote on TikTok.

Many Target locations limited shoppers to one or two Stanley items per purchase, but with limited supply and customers lining up outside of Target locations before opening, many shoppers still left disappointed. Many Stanley shoppers speculated the purchase limit was put in place to discourage resellers from cleaning out the entire inventory. However, a quick search on eBay or Amazon will reveal that many of these limited edition cups are being resold for over $100 (over a 100% mark up from retail). "Crazy we live in world that those cups are being sold for $100+🤣," another person commented.

Of course, plenty of others don't understand the hype around Stanley tumblers or the limited edition colors. "I think they could of done a little better. what's the hype for a red cup and a pink cup?! there's a single heart on the paper in which you rip off. what is going on?!😂," one TikTok commenter joked. "ur telling me people were lining up for THIS..." another chimed in.

The jury is still out on whether or not Target will do a restock of their Valentine's Day Stanley collection before Valentine's Day, but as always Amazon has dupes for the pink and the red tumblers in stock and for less than half the price as Stanley retail.
