Target Is Selling a 'Perfect' $30 Woven Handbag That Looks So Much Like a Designer Brand's Style That's Over 116x the Price

Finding a lookalike for a high-priced item feels like winning a contest or something. There are a lot of items that are expensive for a reason, but sometimes, it’s nice to buy the inexpensive option if it’s available. And one of Target’s more recent (and more popular) lookalike products is a woven handbag that looks so similar to a Bottega Veneta bag that’s over 116 times the price. So, it's no surprise that shoppers are in love with it.
Target’s Woven Slouchy Shoulder Handbag by their apparel brand, A New Day, is currently $30 and it's the internet’s newest obsession. Just looking at it, it’s easy to see why. It’s a decent-sized handbag with an unstructured and slouchy, woven style throughout. It looks like glossy faux leather and has a stylish knot on one side of the handle.

The purse measures 10.5 inches tall, 15 inches wide and 4 inches deep, and it comes in three colors: coral orange, beige and cream. There’s also an interior pocket and a zipper closure.
Plus, it’s already sold out multiple times, as the Instagram account @best.of.target wrote in a post on May 3. It currently has 39 ratings and a 4.8-star rating overall, with shoppers obsessed with how good it looks for the price
"I am actually SO impressed with the quality of this bag,” one person wrote in a review. “You would not think this was $30 and from Target. The faux leather is soft, the bag fits a ton, and it just feels like great quality.”
They then went on to write about how they’re even able to fit a spare diaper, wipes and other essentials in this purse when they’re on the go.
“I got it in the nude color and it’s the perfect neutral,” they finished. “1000% recommend this!!!"
Another reviewer titled their post, “Purse Perfection!" and shared why they loved the bag so much.
“It has a great structure even for being slouchy,” they wrote. “It feels really comfortable while wearing on the shoulder and is eye-catching!... I hope Target makes additional colors, I feel like an olive green or brown would be amazing. Get this bag!!!"
Teen Jodie, $3,500 at Bottega Veneta
As we stated up top, and as @best.of.target wrote in their post, this bag looks so similar to the Teen Jodie purse by Bottega Veneta.
"Stunning! I ordered the beige and it’s so beautiful! Great dupe for the Bottega bag that’s so popular now,” one reviewer wrote. “On trend, but definitely a classic style. Material feels very nice!"
The Teen Jodie bag by Bottega Veneta is made with lambskin and is $3,500. It is slightly smaller than Target’s, measuring 8.2 inches tall, 14.2 inches wide and 5.1 inches deep. Its knot is also slightly bigger, but at first glance, it’s very similar to A New Day’s bag.
Bottega Veneta also has a Mini Jodie Leather Hobo at Nordstrom that is still available in orange (it’s no longer available on Bottega’s site). This one costs $2,800 and is made with “soft Nappa leather” and measures 6 inches wide, 5 inches tall and 1.5 inches deep.
Anthropologie sells another bag that is a recreated Bottega look: The Brigitte Satchel by Melie Bianco: Oversized Edition. It’s $148, comes in three colors—taupe, chocolate and black—and is larger than Target’s, measuring 19.5 inches long, 12 inches tall and 1 inch wide.

Even with a $150 copycat purse, Target’s Woven Slouchy Shoulder Handbag is the most affordable option, costing only $30. With the good reviews and how useful it is—on top of how stylish it is—it’s no wonder it’s been already sold out before. It’s worth a look before it sells out again.
