Athleisure dresses—tennis dresses, workout dresses, active dresses, etc.—are truly hitting stores by storm this year. Of course, they’re made, initially, for working out or wielding a racket out on the court. But the reason people love them so much is because they’re cute and comfortable, which is a great option if you want to look nice for a brunch or party but don’t want to feel constricted all day. And Target’s active dresses are really making some waves, mostly because they just come out with so many different styles. One of their newest pieces looks so similar to other popular brands’ dresses—including a brand Taylor Swift just wore.

Target’s athletic wear brand, All In Motion, is selling their Women's Knit Slit Active Dress for $30 and it’s currently the athleisure dress people can’t get over. At first glance, the black version of this dress looks like any other flattering little black dress. It has a square neckline and two slits in the skirt above each thigh.

This dress also has UPF 50+ for sun protection, flat seams and moisture-wicking, quick-dry fabric. The fabric is made up of 83% Recycled Polyester and 17% Spandex. The built-in shorts kind of give it away that it’s an active dress, but the material has some shine to it and, overall, it looks so chic. Plus, customers seem to really love it.

One person wrote, in all caps, “PERFECT SUMMER ACTIVE DRESS.” And another shopper wrote that it was a "Great option especially for Plus."

“I am a traditional size 24 or 3X and a large breast DDD and I think it’s a great fit,” they wrote in their review. “I have a large stomach and it doesn’t really smooth but it does have a pretty good hold. The shorts underneath are great. I love the fit and security of holding my thighs. I did have to maneuver the pads in the breast area but it wasn’t that hard to do especially when you do it when it’s not on. I think it’s overall a great dress for leisure or activity.”

Another person wrote that it was, “a great dress all around" and another person wrote that “Sporty Spice would approve!” which is a pretty big compliment.

"I was surprised with this one, looks so flattering on my short torso and can wear without a bra,” the shopper wrote. “It will bunch up a bit and lines will show through the first layer, but other than that, I am ready to go exploring with it on!"

Like we said up top, what’s also great about this Target active dress is the fact that it looks like more expensive brands for less. One lookalike dress is the Tie-Breaker Superdress, which is currently $94 on POPFLEX. It’s made with similar fabric makeup: 85% Nylon and 15% Spandex. It has one long slit in the skirt and has a similar design with a square neckline. They call it the “evening gown of workout dresses” and it has a lot of favorable reviews.

What’s fun about the POPFLEX brand is the fact that it’s owned by Cassey Ho, a longtime Swiftie; she was a Secret Sessioner during the 1989 release. You might have been able to tell just by looking at POPFLEX’s opening banner on their site, which says “Tortured Pirouette Department” with a black-and-white photo of their Pirouette Skort.

But that banner isn’t just there to capitalize off The Tortured Poets Department. Swift wore one of POPFLEX’s skirts in her recent “Fortnight” YouTube Shorts video. And Ho properly freaked out. On her Instagram, @blogilates, Ho couldn’t stop saying how much she was “dying” about Swift wearing one of her designs, something she’s dreamed about for a while. And so many Swifties went to buy Digital Lavender Pirouette Skort (Cassey’s Version) that it’s now sold out (don’t worry, you can pre-order it for its next restock!).

Aside from Target’s Knit Slit Active Dress looking like a dress from a Swiftie-approved brand, it also looks like workout dresses from Abercrombie & Fitch (YPB sculptLUX Mini Dress—$80) and Aerie (OFFLINE By Aerie Real Me Low Key Dress—$34.97).

Aerie is a more affordable substitute and the one that looks most similar to All In Motion’s dress. But for $30 and rave reviews, Target’s Women's Knit Slit Active Dress is kind of a steal.
