Picture this: you joyously shut down your work computer and hurry down the stairs to get started on dinner. To your surprise, however, there’s nothing in your pantry but boxes and boxes of cereal. Frosted Flakes, Golden Grahams, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, Froot Loops—you name it! There are even boxes in the fridge!

Silly as it sounds, Kellog’s CEO Gary Pilnick actually offered a piece of “sage” advice to cash-strapped consumers in February, and that is: cereal for dinner. As opposed to, you know, maybe something more nutritious or cheaper (have you seen cereal prices these days?!) Cue the meme parade!

Tone-deaf CEO aside, there’s nothing wrong with choosing to have cereal for dinner every now and again. In fact, yours truly enjoys a bowl (or three) from time to time, and it's easy to see the appeal. Of course, before you dig in, you’ll need the perfect cereal bowl—and as always, Target has just the thing. Launched under its private-label Threshold, the retailer added the Stoneware Avesta Cereal Bowl to its lengthy inventory list, and it’s so cheap, you’ll want to clear the entire shelf.

This elegant, simple stoneware bowl features an ultra-shiny, high-gloss exterior in a striking, deep black color. The clean lines and simple aesthetic allow this gorgeous piece of serveware to fit seamlessly into any design aesthetic or decor style. Additionally, the bowl can hold a whopping 27-ounces, which translates to a whole lot of cereal. In terms of care, the vessels are microwave and dishwasher-safe, so you can easily warm up soup or oatmeal and toss the bowls right into the washer once you’re done.

Even better than the bowl's aesthetic appeal, of course, is the shockingly low price of just $2 when you order online. That's four times cheaper than a nearly identical style being sold at Pottery Barn. That means you could buy an entire set of four for $8! At those prices, we might actually be able to afford cereal for dinner after all.
