Even though spring is here, not every new shoe you buy has to be bright and spring-ified. There are great heels you can get for the upcoming warm seasons that are more neutral and can be worn year-round. Mule heels, in particular, are a good, solid heel to own for a ton of different occasions. They’re also easy to slip on and off, which is a bonus. Luckily, for anyone searching for a neutral mule heel, Target’s new gold buckle mule heels are here in time for your spring events. Plus they look so similar to a Dolce Vita style over three times the price.

Target’s women’s apparel brand, A New Day, is selling these new shoes for $34.99. They’re called the Women's Diana Buckle Mule Heels and they only come in black. But they are available in sizes 5 through 12 and in medium and wide width.

These heels are made with faux leather and have an open-toe and back style. They also have a 2.25-inch block heel and, to finish them off, the thick strap has a textured, round gold buckle front and center. Their outsoles (AKA the bottoms of the shoe) have a “textured” feel which helps for a “better grip” on whatever floor you’re walking on.

Because these are so new, they don’t have a ton of reviews yet, but one person wrote about how much they liked them.

"Very comfortable on!” they wrote. “Could wear to the office or a night out. I am a 6 to 6.5 and got a 6 and they fit great."

And even the one “meh” review says they’re, “Very cute [on]. They give me early 2000 vibes.” But they did get blisters on their big toes from wearing them. It’s a hit or miss with heels because while some shoes might give a few people blisters, they might be completely fine for others (as seen with these two reviews).

As we said up top, Target’s heels are very similar to Dolce Vita’s Laika Heels. They’re currently $120 and come in four colors: LT Natural Raffia and ivory, cider and black leather. The black leather is the style comparable to Target’s. It also has an open-toe, open-back mule heel design and a block heel (which is slightly shorter at 2.2 inches high). These are also made with real leather, plus the buckle has one flat side and grommets across the strap, unlike Target’s heels.

If you want a nice, basic mule heel for fancy or nicer occasions, then Target’s Women's Diana Buckle Mule Heels are worth a try. They’re airy enough for warmer weather but don’t necessarily have to be put away when fall comes knocking.
