Retailers just cannot get enough of footbed sandals this spring season. And who can blame them? Footbed sandals typically have a more supportive insole that either molds to your feet or is just thicker than a flip-flop or flimsy fancy sandal. While footbed sandals don’t have to be in a Birkenstocks style, a lot of times they are, and shoppers love that. From Aldi to Target, footbed sandals with a cork or cork-like footbed are very in this season. And Target’s newest option is on the trendier side, looking like a unique Birkenstock style almost six times the price.

We’re talking about Universal Thread’s Women's Cameron Single Band Footbed Sandals, which are currently $24.99. They have the classic contoured footbed made of something that looks like cork (officially, the outsole is made with 100% TPR or Thermoplastic Rubber). The unique thing about these, though, is that the single band is closer to the front of the sandal. It’s a bit curved and has a gold buckle.

These sandals come in four colors: cream, cognac, black and beige. Beige has the classic suede footbed while the other three have footbeds that are painted the same color as the strap. They’re all made with fake leather and while most of them have a shiny finish, the beige color has a more matte, suede strap.

Birkenstock has sandals that are similar to this unique style. Their Madrid Big Buckle, which starts at $97.50 on Birkenstock’s website, has a single-band design that’s closer to the front of the shoe and has a big gold buckle.

The High Shine Ecru ($150) on the official site looks the most like Target’s single-band footbed sandals because both of their straps are the same color as their footbeds. Nordstrom sells the same style and color for $10 less ($140), but the footbed is the classic cork color of regular Birks.

There aren’t a ton of reviews yet on Target’s website, so it’s hard to say how good of quality the Cameron Single Band Footbed Sandals are. But based on their track record and how shoppers love their shoes that look like Birkenstock, it’s probably a safe bet to try these out, especially for such an affordable price.
