Target Launches Prologue Clothing Line

And it’s all under $50.

Landing a big job interview or stepping out for your first day of work can be daunting — especially when it comes time to decide what to wear. Target knows what’s up, and their latest line, called Prologue, might just help solve that very conundrum.

Prologue is Target’s newest offering. The company has launched several clothing lines over the past two years, including Who What Wear, A New Day, Wild Fable, and Ava & Viv — and this latest does not disappoint.

Prologue’s signature style is sleek, chic, and totally versatile, with timeless essentials that aren’t boring in the slightest. On your next Target run, you can pick up tailored skirts and joggers, a faux-leather dress, or even this cool long Sherpa vest, then mix and match them with things you already own for endless looks, whether you’re joining the corporate world or applying to work at an artsy agency. Prologue’s pieces wouldn’t be out of place on campus, either; they’ve got a classic cool vibe that makes them fit in almost anywhere.

Another great thing about Prologue? Many of its pieces are offered in plus sizes. Inclusion has been a major point of difference in Target’s latest launches, and it’s clear that Prologue’s debut was well thought-out. Target’s senior vice president of product design and development Julie Guggemos told InStyle that the company looked to its customers for feedback when developing Prologue. “We wanted women to feel confident in the pieces,” she told the magazine. Prologue’s 74 pieces were designed with “clean lines, beautiful fabrics — because the silhouettes are so simple — and really great details. A lot is under $20 or $30, which is fantastic.”

Just when we thought we couldn’t love Target more, they prove us wrong! Prologue launches online and in Target stores on September 15 — just in time to restock on fall staples.
