Target Launches 2018 Swim Collection

With zero airbrushed photos.

Swimsuit season is officially here, and one noted retailer is trying to remove some of the stress that comes with finding your dream suit.

Target has officially announced the in-store launch of their 2018 swimwear collection, Bustle notes. And this year's line features an impressive 1,700 styles. In addition to the numerous designs available, Target shared that they'll be continuing their celebration of body positivity, and will not airbrush any of the marketing materials for their 2018 swimwear collection.

The retailer explained the decision in a press release, writing: "It’s our goal to take the stress out of swimsuit season and bring joy back to the beach by providing something for every Target guest. To do that, we’re offering more than 1,700 styles throughout the year, including an expanded assortment of swimwear for all sizes. To show off the new styles you’ll see bright, vibrant images throughout our marketing campaign—all meant to inspire guests to have fun while rocking their favorite swimsuit. Something you won’t see? Reshaping or airbrushing. Building on the strong foundation we set with last year’s campaign, we’re celebrating women and encouraging them to embrace the beauty of their own bodies."

You can get your first peek at some of the newest pieces on their website, including a bold bikini in hues of red and pink, a light purple one-piece with intricate cutouts, and a fun floral two piece. According to Target, pieces in the collection retail from $14.99 - $49.99.

This isn't the first time that Target has made positive strides with their retail offerings. The brand previously debuted an inclusive lingerie and hosiery line, and they unveiled a body positive denim line in 2016.

Social media has shared their support for the airbrush-free campaign, writing: "Wish there were ads like this before all the years of my negative self-talk, but it's definitely a start. Hope other companies/brands do the same." Other users have also praised the store for offering swimsuits in their sizes.
