From Best Products

From clothes to food to home décor pieces that you didn’t know you needed walking in the store, you go to Target for everything. Now you can add luggage to the list, because Target has launched its own in-store brand, Open Story.

The luggage collection has nearly 40 pieces, including checked luggage, carry-on luggage, backpacks, packing cubes, cosmetic cases, garment bags, duffel bags, and totes. Basically, no matter how you like to travel, you’ll find a bag fitting for your needs.

The check and carry-on pieces have a hard shell, and come in nine colors: Black, Cedar, Champagne, Dark Denim (navy), June Bug (dark green), Pink, Silver, Violet Ice, and Wrought Iron (sage green). The additional accessories — like a travel wallet and hard-sided cosmetic case — also come in Tan, Olive, and Black.

Best Products got an advanced look at the collection, and we can confirm that the shiny finish makes the luggage look more expensive than it is. It won’t break the bank, though, since each piece ranges from $19.99 to $179.99, which is 25 to 30% less expensive than comparable luggage products, according to the company. Open Story luggage will hit all Target stores on Feb. 9 and will be available online on Feb. 13.

Not only does the new luggage offer a chic way to travel, but it offers features to make the experience easier. Certain pieces have a built-in TSA lock, a built-in USB port for a power bank or battery charger (not included), and 360-degree wheels. One of my favorite features is that the bags have expandability for 20% additional packing — because I definitely need 15 shirts for a 4-day trip, right?

You can feel good about your purchases with the 10-year warranty on Open Story pieces. Now, if you would excuse us, we’re still trying to decide whether we’re going to get the June Bug or Violet Ice color.
