Target’s Cheese Advent Calendar Is Back—And Only $20

Even though we’re not quite past Halloween yet, you know we’re already planning, preparing, and looking forward to the most wonderful time of the year—and we’ve found the tastiest way to literally count down the days to Christmas.

Hitting Target shelves in late November, the cheese advent calendar is for those looking for a savory take on the commonly chocolate- and sweets-stuffed tradition, and at only $20, it’s an affordable way to indulge on the daily, leading up to Christmas.

And while we’ve seen our share of kooky themed advent calendars—from spiked seltzers to breakfast cereal—this particular calendar, curated by British food blogger Annem Hobsen of So Wrong It’s Nom, was an instant favorite of shoppers when it first debuted in 2017.

The calendar has 24 pieces of individually wrapped cheese in seven varieties, along with a bonus, limited edition “surprise” according to the So Wrong It’s Nom food blog.

Cheeses this year include Jarlsberg, Applewood, Mature Cheddar, Red Leicester Cheddar, and Wensleydale with cranberries, all by British cheese brand Norseland, Ilchester. The calendar does need to be refrigerated. But it comes in a “book-style” packaging so you can toss the first 12 days of the calendar once you’re done with them to save some fridge space (you know, for other holiday treats).

Make sure to head to Target to grab your own once they’re available—they’re bound to sell out quickly! The advent calendars will also be available at Supervalu, Sprouts, Schnucks, Meijer, Jewel, Lidl and Publix.
