Target has been pushing for size inclusivity for a few years now. The retailer showed a gorgeous (and incredibly diverse) at CurvyCon last September, and now, it is taking things further with the launch of its own size-inclusive activewear line, All in Motion.
Target announced All in Motion on January 9 via a press release and we can't wait to get our hands on the pieces. Officially launching on January 17 online and January 24 in stores, the new activewear line will reportedly extend up to a 4X size. Additionally, and per Target's announcement, a majority of the items offered in the first drop will be made with sustainable materials — though it did not specify which materials exactly those will be.
All in Motion will not only include options for women, but also for men (ranging from sizes S-3XL) and kids (from sizes XS-XXL). "With a size-inclusive assortment that incorporates quality, durable fabrics and sustainably sourced materials, we are ringing in the New Year with a new collection that celebrates the joy of movement," Jill Sando, Target's senior vice president and general merchandise manager, said in the press release.
It doesn't stop there, however: The collection will also affordable, ranging from $3.99 to $69.99 with most items priced below $40. Target also states that the activewear was constructed with "wicking, water-resistant, UPF50+ protection and odor-control, along with signature details like secure zip pockets and thumbholes in sleeves."
And the best part is perhaps this: In addition to offering an inclusive size range, the collection will be modeled on diverse body types, both online in campaign images and in-store on plus-size mannequins. Target also announced that it will not retouch the campaign images of All in Motion. News of this inclusive line is certainly exciting, especially for plus-size women and men, who are finally getting more options in their sizes that both fit and perform well.
Keep an eye out for All in Motion's first release on Target.com and all Target stores.
