There's no doubt that Tarek El Moussa and Heather Rae Young have a riveting and whirlwind love story —in fact, we tracked their whole relationship here. As they approach the one year mark in August, the couple has already moved in and traveled the world together. Not to mention, Young has become a bonus mom to El Moussa's two kids.

While we knew these two real estate pros had initially met on a yacht, we didn't know too much about that very first conversation they shared, and how El Moussa might have raised a red flag to some with his rather spontaneous question. Fortunately, the Selling Sunset star was able to look past it, and saw El Moussa for the "endearing," "sweet," and "funny" guy he is, as she told Page Six in a recent interview.

The first time Young crossed paths with El Moussa was on a boat docked at Woody’s Wharf in Newport Beach, California. El Moussa, 38, went up to Young, 32, to introduce himself. After bantering for a few minutes, he asked Young if she would go to Paris with him. "What?! Do I want to go to Paris with you? No, I don’t even know you," she recalls to Page Six.

While the question definitely caught Young off guard, there was still something drawing her to the Flip or Flop star. She declined his dinner invitation, but agreed to get drinks with him— which went exceptionally well. She recalls that they chatted for six hours and continued to FaceTime one another on the way home."Ever since then we’ve been inseparable,” she says.

The couple went public with their relationship in August 2019 when El Moussa shared a photo of them to Instagram. He wrote in the caption: "The first time I saw her smile she 'did that thing to my tummy' and I knew right away I needed to get to know her." While he doesn't mention asking her to Paris during their first exchange, we find out a few months later that he was not bluffing — and now after actually getting to know El Moussa, Young was ready to accept his invite.

Last Thanksgiving, the couple jetted off to Europe and made stops in Amsterdam and, of course, Paris. Although El Moussa may have some wild card ideas, he stays true to his word, which is not only the perfect trait to find in a boyfriend, but also a house flipper and real estate investor. Bottom line: If it's the right person, your wild questions may just charm them even more.
