Taraji P. Henson was just named one of the 2024 Women of the Year by TIME magazine, and at an event honoring her recognition, the Color Purple star looked like one of the best dressed women of the year thanks to her plunging see-through look.

The actor attended the ceremony in an archival Donna Karan gown that was composed of a waterfall of black sequins embroidered onto a transparent fishnet base. The halter-style dress was nearly backless, except it was held together with two thin strings, one of which was decorated with a thick ruched sleeve that continued over Henson’s shoulder, appearing like a row of flowers.

On the front and the back of the dress, the sequins were more concentrated toward the torso, while the skirt was mainly composed of see-through embroidery. It also appeared as if Henson wore black boy shorts underneath the gown, but it’s unclear if this was originally part of the design or not.

To round out her look, the Empire actor wore dangly shoulder duster earrings from Jacob & Co. in silver, and she matched the earrings with her large dazzling rings. She had her hair pulled up into a messy bun on top of her head, with one long side bang framing her face. She also sported long maroon nails that were seen as she posed on the red carpet.

Suffice it to say that it’s sequin season for Henson, who recently wore another sequin-adorned outfit when she attended an event celebrating Black excellence in Hollywood, hosted by the American Black Film Festival. For this event, Henson sported a burgundy strapless gown from Nicole by NF.
