Tanya Taylor Is Launching a Home Decor Line and Instagram Got The First Look

If you ever doubted the power of Instagram, fashion designer Tanya Taylor's first home collection is proof of the beauty in community and storytelling. Six months ago in her mother’s home in Barbados, Taylor repurposed excess fabric from her line and redesigned them into curtains, pillows, bedding, lampshades, and carpets until her work filled the room. What began as a fun, creative outlet became a light bulb to a new concept. Taylor shared a behind-the-scenes look and explanation on Instagram. The response brought thousands of eyes to the pillow she made! She interacted with her audience on sizes, style, prices, and future collaborations.
“What is most important to me is that our brand is always approachable and inspiring and that we continue to innovate how our prints can expand beyond clothing and bring joy to people’s lives,” Taylor tells House Beautiful. "We launched Home directly to consumers on Instagram because that is where we initially learned of their interest, preferences, and enthusiasm."
On June 12th, the collection was available on the brand’s Instagram account for live shopping, but don’t fret! The collection launches exclusively on tanyataylor.com today, June 16th with prices ranging from $60 up to $125. From the runway to your living room: Tanya Taylor’s hand-painted prints and one-of-a-kind pieces are a vibrant reminder that you have what you need to create something beautiful.
Inspired by women who color outside the lines, the collection includes pieces for dressing the table such as, runners, placemats, napkins, as well as throw pillows. It will also include special one-of-a-kind pieces: a hammock, sofa, and chairs. “I like bringing the art we create to all elements of our customer's lifestyle," says Taylor. "Our customer loves entertaining in a lighthearted, playful, and inviting way."
She hopes the line will encourage customers to entertain in fun (and personal!) ways:“I love walking into someone's home or being at dinner with them and seeing their personality shine through in their table and interior design," Taylor explains. “Home for me is about expanding her ability to express herself as an entertainer and show her thoughtfulness and sense of spirit through new products that coordinate with our beloved art.”
The gift of entertaining comes naturally to Taylor. “As much as I love dressing up, I equally love dressing my table up and bringing a sense of joy and celebration to my guests," she says. "I like surprising and inspiring people so our tables are full of color, not too polished, very artful, and meant for fun."
